When you first take a dog or puppy home, you will most likely have to potty train your dog. There are a few people who are luck out and get an already potty trained dog, but this is pretty rare. The truth is, most new owners will have to train their dogs. This can be scary but it is a lot easier than it sounds.

Two traits that an individual must have when they potty train a dog are patience and consistency.  If you are inconsistant with your approach, it will take a while for your dog to learn the preferred behavior.  If you have the proper mindset and dedication, training a dog can be very enjoyable.  The first choice you must make in regards to training a dog is if it will use the bathroom indoors (pee pad/litter box) or your backyard.

If you have decided to go with the pee pad then you must select a place where you will want that pad to be each and every time. It is important that the dog knows exactly where the pee pad is at all times without being surprised. This will lead to fewer accidents. If you find that your dog selected another area of the house, such as the corner of the dining room for its bathroom instead of the pad it is time to get to work. Working with your dog’s current behaviour is how to potty train it.

Decide where you want your puppy potty train indoors.  Put the pee pad down and show him where it is.  Most dogs will try to please you by using the pad.  If they decide that there is somewhere else in the house, like under the table, then you have found your training start place.  Put the pad down, show him where it is, and then gradually move it to where you want him to use it on a regular basis.

How to potty train a dog to go outside is another story. Whether you are training a dog to go inside or outside you will want to make sure that you are restricting the food and water to meal times only. This will prevent extra accidents from happening. About fifteen to twenty minutes after the dog ate or drank you will want to place your dog on a leash and lead it into the yard. Do not let your dog go wherever though as you should be leading it to the spot in the yard you approve for such procedures. Once your dog goes, praise it and give a treat.

Continue doing this but a plan of action will be required when you are unavailable at home.Unlike the training to dogs for the pee pads,your dog will not have a means for relieving itself properly.Training a dog for doing potty in the bathroom is also a way of teaching it on how to hold its bladder.Here the crate training is useful.If you put your dog in a safe crate while you are asleep or not at home,there are more chances that it will not go to the bathroom.However,once you reach home,you will need to take it out straight away.

Training your dog for agility can be an incredibly fulfilling, enjoyable activity for both of you. It is unfortunate, but lots of people find it too difficult and time-consuming in order to properly train their dog to this level. It is easy to train your dog to enjoy agility courses, thats for sure.

A lot of those who instruct and train dogs concur that as far as dog training practices go, the owners need the most instruction rather than their pets. Even though it is human to know when someone is upset, dog have a hard time understanding what they are doing wrong.

When you’re training any dog of any breed and at any age, you need to remember that dogs will do anything to please their human masters. If they don’t have a clear understanding of how to make you happy, then of course they can’t do the things you want them to do.

This means you as the master must learn a little about effective rewards for when your dog does something you like and effective punishment for when your dog isn’t behaving well.

Reward for Good Behavior

Even puppies understand goodies and a kind voice. puppy goes to the toilet in the yard on his own When the puppy goes to the bathroom in the right place, give him a treat, a cuddle, and a lot of acclaim.

Soon your puppy will like to do it’s business in the same place evey day and it will find that he/she goes their by instinct every time.

Reward is true for every action you want your dog to achieve.

Dogs will attempt to get praise and affection from you by performing each of the behaviors it remembers eliciting a good response from you.  Unfortunately if all a dog hears is “NO” and sees you rushing at him, he’s also going to learn that these bad actions also get your attention.

In order to teach a dog that behaviour is unacceptable, turn your back on the dog and fold your arms. The dogs feel the worst form of punishment from not getting attention, so they realize bad behavior is not worth it.

Agility and how to train my dog.

As with any other time you’re training your dog, praise and reward are vitally important. Playing is what dogs live for. Curiosity come naturally to them and they are playful by nature.

If you show your dog that an agility course is fun and an easy way to get rewards and praise, your dog will love leaping over the obstacles on all agility courses.

Patience is vital during agility training. You can start by trying to locate a nearby dog trainer that also teaches agility courses. Younger dogs that are under 12 months are in danger of injuring themselves when it comes to these courses.

Go through the agility course with your dog and make it a fun experience for her. If you can, lower the bar so your dog is not threatened. Use plenty of food rewards for when your dog inadvertently does something good and praise him happily when he jumps over any of the bars.

Instructing your dog to do agility isn’t hard work for both owner and pet if they perceive it as enjoyable. After plenty of practice, your dog will become a pro at this course once it starts to understands the pieces of the agility.
