Taking Care Of A Small Dog In A Small Home
The ease of taking care of a small dogis dependent on how much time a person has. The responsibility of taking care of a small dog may seem lesser than taking care of a bigger dog but there is just a slight difference in this. Before even taking on the responsibility of a dog, no matter how small, one should be aware of just how much work is entailed in having a dog. A person living in a small home or apartment in the city will have the responsibility of taking care of a small dog in a limited space. This feat is easier with a small dog than a large one which is why a lot of city dwellers have smaller dogs than larger ones. Some dog owners even go through dog care training just to be able to meet the needs of their dog.
Basic Needs for Taking Care Of A Small Dog
The basic needs of a dog, no matter what size are food, water and shelter. Taking care of a small dog is easier since its basic needs are not as much as larger dogs. The food intake of a small apartment dog is basically a cup or two of dog food twice or three times a day. Water should be provided all the time and limiting water intake to limit urination might result to a thirsty, noisy dog when left alone. The dog owner should always give the small dog time to relieve itself before leaving it for the day. Small dogs should have morning and evening walk daily after every meal.
And Then Some
While meeting the basic needs of the dog is one of the main aspects of taking care of a small dog, there are other things that a dog owner must provide in order to raise a healthy and well balanced dog. Exercise is something that all dogs need although the degree of exercise is dependent on the breed of dog. Daily walks to relieve itself may not count as exercise since the dog owner may be in a hurry to fully walk the dog and return it to the apartment or home after it has done its business. A run is an integral part of taking care of a small dog. This run can be done once or twice a week just to exercise the dog. Other needs that are part and parcel of taking care of a small dog or any size dog, for that mater, is the love and affection that most of these companion dogs are hungry for.

Taking Proper Care Of Boxer Puppy Dogs
Small dog care and large dog care differs slightly depending on the breed of dog. There are some dogs that have long coats that require routine grooming to stay healthy. There are other dogs that have short coats that need very little grooming. Some smaller dogs have insecurity issues and need socialization with other dogs, especially larger dogs. There are larger dogs that need a firm hand in training them so that they are controllable in public and are not a danger to themselves or others. One type of dog that is easy to care for, but also needs a fairly firm and consistent hand in training is a boxer. Care for boxer puppy dogs is easy in that they do not shed very much and they are generally happy just to be around their owners.
Exercise, Tricks and Nutritional Care For Boxer Puppy Dogs
Care of boxer puppy dogs starts with nutrition. In absence of proper nutrition the boxer’s body is unable to repair itself and also cannot fight off illness or disease effectively. For proper care of boxer puppy dogs, the dog food that is purchased should have whole grains and whole meats in it rather than by products and meals. Meals are better than by products but should not be the first thing on the label of ingredients. It is better to have a whole meat product with a whole grain product soon after it before the meals are listed. It is also a good idea to give the boxer puppy dog care in treats such as wet dog food occasionally and other nutritious snacks.
Care of the boxer puppy dogs also require that the owner take care to give the dog exercise on a regular basis. If the dog does not get enough exercise it can become whiny and can get frustrated and cause other problems in the home, such as chewing. The boxer loves to learn new tricks, so part of the exercise can be training the boxer to a new command. Boxers love to be around the family and are great in playing with children since they take pokes and prods that are given very well without snapping or biting. Care of the boxer puppy dog requires that it gets about fifteen minutes of exercise at a minimum about three times per day to satisfy its physical and psychological needs. The things of the home are not destroyed by the dog when it is healthy and happy.
