For good reason, one of the most popular working breeds is the Labrador Retriever. The Retriever’s temperament, intelligence make it an effective, protective family pet. Just like any other breed, all pups need training. With consistent, firm but compassionate training, your Labrador retriever will grow to be the best companion ever.

 Labradors Are An Intelligent Breed

If there is one problem with the breed, it would be its eagerness to retrieve, which can become a compulsion. For this reason alone, Labrador Retriever training is essential to the dog’s stability and well being.

Most people prefer this dog breed over others because of its ability to understand and communicate with the owner.

There are certain duties labradors are able to perform that other dogs cannot.  Labrador Retriever training can be one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have with a pet.

Exercise is a Must as Retrievers are Energetic

Whether you’re considering a Labrador as a working retriever, or as a family pet, it’s important to understand they need a lot of involvement on your part. As for the duties of a family dog, Labrador Retriever training will help you develop the calm and sensibility that these dogs possess. Make sure you exercise this dog fully because it has lots of energy.

Labrador Puppies

Labrador puppies teethe as do all puppies, so make sure you pup has plenty to chew on. If you leave the young dog alone long enough to become bored, there will most likely be a mangled slipper or a high heel in plain sight to serve as a reminder.

Grooming and Feeding

Labrador Retriever training will give you excellent tips in terms of what to feed your dog, how much exercise to give them and how to groom your dog. By implementing Labrador Retriever training you’ll be informed as to how to select the right diet for your puppy. You’ll be able to determine the amount of exercise that your dog needs in order to be content at the right times, and eager to go at other times.

Labradors Love Being in Water!

Lab training will teach you the right grooming techniques needed for your dog. Labrador’s prefer to spend a lot of time in the water, so if you don’t have a pool or a lake nearby, expect to see the dog in the tub on occasion. It’s all fun and games when it comes to Labrador Retrievers.
