Chows actually were first bred in Mongolia, before being introduced to China. Literally translated from Chinese (Songshi Quan) their name really means “Puffy Lion Dog”. This breed has a mane and a double coat. Chows are extremely loyal to their owners and are wary of strangers. These dogs need to be socialised at an early age.

Today Chihuahuas are often crossed with Dachshunds, to get Chihuaschunds, or with Beagles to get Chihueagles.
